Description

The Bachelor's Degree in Digital Arts and Cinema is awarded upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Study Program of the Department of Digital Arts and Cinema of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The program provides interdisciplinary education combining digital arts, cinema, audiovisual production and digital technologies. It focuses on both theoretical education and practical training in film production, directing, screenwriting, animation, digital installations, virtual and augmented reality, interactive media, digital application design and the development of artistic works through contemporary technologies. The program promotes creativity, artistic expression, innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration, preparing graduates for careers in the creative industries and digital media production.

Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Study Program, graduates possess comprehensive knowledge of digital arts, cinema, audiovisual communication and contemporary creative technologies. They understand the theories of cinema, aesthetics, visual storytelling, film history and digital arts, together with the principles of directing, production, cinematography, editing, sound design, digital imaging, animation, interactive media, virtual and augmented reality, digital storytelling and multimedia application development. They also acquire knowledge of the creative industries, arts management, scientific research and professional ethics in digital arts and audiovisual production.

Skills

Graduates are able to design, develop and implement artistic and audiovisual projects using contemporary digital technologies. They can produce films, digital narratives, animation projects, interactive applications, new media installations and virtual or augmented reality experiences. They are capable of using specialised software for image, sound and video production and editing, applying artistic and scientific research methodologies, organising productions, collaborating in multidisciplinary teams and presenting complete creative projects supported by academic and artistic documentation.

Graduates are capable of working independently or as members of multidisciplinary creative teams, assuming artistic and technical responsibility for complex digital arts and cinema projects, adapting to continuous technological developments and applying innovative methods of creation and production.
