Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy is awarded by the Department of Philosophy of the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The undergraduate programme provides systematic education in Philosophy, covering the history of philosophy, theoretical and practical philosophy, logic, ethics, aesthetics, philosophy of science, philosophy of education and philosophy teaching. The programme develops critical and analytical thinking, scientific research, argumentation and pedagogical competence, preparing graduates for academic and professional careers.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.
Knowledge
Graduates acquire specialized scientific knowledge in Philosophy and a strong interdisciplinary background in the humanities. They understand the history of philosophical thought, the major branches of philosophy, philosophical theories and methods, as well as the relationship between philosophy and contemporary scientific, social and cultural developments. They also gain knowledge of philosophical research methodology and academic scholarship.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in preparing, documenting and presenting academic papers, locating and evaluating scholarly sources, critical and analytical thinking, logical argumentation and solving complex theoretical problems. They also develop effective written and oral communication, teamwork in academic environments and the ability to use modern digital tools for study and research
