Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Development, Agri-Food and Natural Resources Management is offered by the Department of Agricultural Development, Agri-Food and Natural Resources Management of the School of Agricultural Development, Nutrition and Sustainability at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The programme provides high-level education in agricultural sciences, agri-food systems, sustainable natural resource management and sustainability. It combines agricultural sciences, food technologies, environmental management, economics, entrepreneurship and digital technologies, preparing graduates for scientific and professional careers across the agri-food sector.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
Admission requires a high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic Examinations or another process provided for by current legislation. Graduates may continue their studies in master’s and doctoral programs in Greece or abroad.
Knowledge
The programme provides comprehensive knowledge in agricultural development, agri-food systems and natural resources management, combining agricultural, environmental, economic and technological approaches. Students acquire scientific knowledge in crop and animal production, food science, soil and water resources management, agricultural economics, sustainable development, environmental protection, precision agriculture and the application of modern technologies in the agri-food sector. They also become familiar with agricultural policy, entrepreneurship, innovation and the sustainable management of natural resources.
Skills
The programme develops skills in designing, implementing and evaluating agricultural development and agri-food practices, managing natural resources sustainably, analysing agricultural and environmental data and applying modern scientific and technological tools. Students acquire laboratory and field research skills, problem-solving abilities, digital technology competencies, innovation capacity, food quality and safety assessment skills and the ability to design entrepreneurial and development initiatives within the agri-food sector.

Graduates are able to apply scientific knowledge to promote sustainable agricultural development, manage natural resources according to sustainability principles, design and implement innovative solutions for agricultural production, agri-food systems and environmental management, and support decision-making in both public and private organisations.
