Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Russian Language, Literature and Slavic Studies is awarded by the Department of Russian Language, Literature and Slavic Studies of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The undergraduate programme provides comprehensive education in the Russian language, Russian and Slavic philology, linguistics, literature, history, culture and international relations of the Slavic world. The programme combines language training, philological and cultural studies, as well as research and pedagogical preparation, preparing graduates for careers in education, translation, culture, public administration and international cooperation.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.

Graduates possess comprehensive knowledge of the Russian language, linguistics, Russian and Slavic philology, literature, history and the culture of Russia and other Slavic countries. They understand theories of language and language acquisition, as well as the scientific approaches governing the study, research and analysis of language, literature and the cultural heritage of the Slavic world.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in effective oral and written communication in Russian, applying theories of language and language learning for educational and research purposes, analysing linguistic, literary and cultural phenomena, evaluating academic sources, exercising critical thinking and adopting evidence-based scientific approaches. They also acquire communication skills that support their participation in international academic and professional environments.
