Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Physics is awarded by the Department of Physics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The undergraduate programme provides comprehensive theoretical and laboratory education in Physics, covering all fundamental and modern fields of the discipline. Students acquire a strong background in theoretical and experimental physics, mathematics and computational methods, while developing research and laboratory skills through extensive practical training and specialized elective courses.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.

Graduates possess comprehensive knowledge of the fundamental fields of Physics, with a thorough understanding of the core theories, principles and laws governing natural phenomena. They acquire a strong background in mathematics as an essential tool for physics, together with knowledge of classical and modern physics, experimental physics, computational methods and the applications of physics in modern science and technology. They are able to identify and interpret physical laws and understand the principles governing physical systems.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in designing and conducting experimental setups, performing laboratory experiments, collecting, analysing and interpreting experimental data, applying mathematical methods to describe physical phenomena, and solving theoretical and applied physics problems. They are able to analyse complex problems, select appropriate theories, laws and mathematical methods, perform calculations of physical quantities and use modern computational tools for scientific investigation and analysis.
