Description
The Bachelor's Degree in Informatics and Telecommunications is awarded by the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The undergraduate programme provides comprehensive theoretical and laboratory education in Computer Science and Telecommunications, covering algorithms, programming, computer architecture, operating systems, databases, artificial intelligence, data science, software engineering, computer networks, cybersecurity, signal processing and telecommunications systems. The programme combines theoretical instruction, laboratory training, internship opportunities and a diploma thesis, preparing graduates for professional and research careers.

Access Requirements / Progression Opportunities
A high school diploma and successful completion of the Panhellenic or placement exams are required. The degree is awarded upon successful completion of eight semesters and 240 ECTS credits.

Graduates possess comprehensive and specialized knowledge in Informatics and Telecommunications, with emphasis on programming, algorithm design and analysis, software development, information systems, databases, artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data processing, computer systems, networks and telecommunications. They also acquire specialized knowledge in computer architecture, embedded and digital systems, digital and optical communications, wireless networks, signal processing and modern Internet and mobile communication technologies, depending on their selected study track and specialization.
Skills
Graduates develop skills in designing, developing, evaluating and optimizing algorithms, developing and managing software, information systems and databases, applying artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, developing web, e-commerce and e-government applications, and designing human–computer interaction interfaces. They also develop skills in digital circuit design, embedded systems development, network and telecommunications management, signal processing, mobile and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, as well as information technology and telecommunications project management.

Graduates are capable of analysing and solving complex problems in Informatics and Telecommunications, designing, developing, implementing and managing integrated information, computing and telecommunications systems, applying modern software, hardware and communication technologies, delivering innovative solutions in scientific and professional environments, and managing high-technology projects.
